These photos show some of the many participants in the March of the Dead, who wore around their necks the names of some of the over one million people who have died as a result of the US wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. The March of the Dead began at 9:30 a.m. on the fifth anniversary of the war on Iraq, March 19, 2007. These photos were taken between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, when participants in the March of the Dead and other protesters met at the reflecting pool to march to the DNC. At around 6 or 6:30, between 20 and 45 of the protesters were arrested in the street at First Street SE, near the US Capitol.
