Event Report
By:joan borst
We marked the 5th anniversary of the war on Iraq at our weekly ( 2 1/2 years now) vigil. Close to 40 people joined together on the corner. Usually 6 or 7 show up. We had first page coverage in the paper and coverage on Sheridan Media News. There were new people at the vigil. And people from as far 32 miles away attended. We have a binder of all the American and Coalition casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan, gto date. This gave us an opportunity to remember all those who have died in this war, including Iraqis. People passing by in cars gave us a tremendous amount of support. We expect that the vigil will generate some letters to the paper, which is always good. Wyoming is a very conservative area. After all, Cheney pretends to be from here. It is a real challenge. | ||||
