Sound the Alarm! Today hundreds of protesters "froze" in place for 5 minutes in Union Station to mark 5 years of war as commuters and police looked on with curious or confused expressions. But when activists stepped out of their pose, chanting a reverberating "end the war" throughout the rotunda, the message and purpose of the action became clear: we cannot be silent. More reports coming soon!

At least 200 anti-war demonstrators froze for 5 minutes in Washington DC's Union Station to protest 5 years of war and occupation in Iraq, and to kick off the following day's actions.

One beautiful action! When everyone "unfroze" and the chanting started, it lasted a full 15 minutes! What a roar! It must have echoed throughout the station and I hope trains were arriving during the chant. Can you imagine getting off a train to echoing chants of "Stop the War", "Bring Them Home" and "End the Occupation"? Very empowering, very powerful. Thanks to all who showed up!
